50 mammal species, 580+ recorded bird species and 33 reptile species share the park's sal forest, grassland and river habitats, including 260+ Bengal tigers (2022 census) and roughly 1,100 elephants (2019 estimate).

• Asian elephant: ~1,100 individuals (2019 estimate), large herds along the Ramganga
• Indian gharial: Fish-eating crocodilian, reintroduced to the Ramganga
